It is always better to be prepared
and knowledgeable in everything to overcome challenges we might face. Disasters
can be human induced or naturally occurring, therefore, we should know the
safety precautionary measures and what to do during and after disasters to
avoid possible damages. This year’s Disaster Resilience Month Celebration has
the theme “Kahandaan sa sakuna’t peligro para sa tunay na pagbabago.”
Filipinos
should be resilient in every life threatening situations that could bring them
harm and danger. When things happen beyond our control, we must learn how to
cope up and quickly think of a solution for our problem. Being ready is always
better than being sorry. It is important to know what steps or actions are you
going to do if there are disasters. In your homes, you should always have an
emergency survival kit which contains different things or necessities that you
needed the most. Saving local emergency hotlines is also a must and we should
listen and follow the plan our local government created in case of serious
situations. It is also important to remind yourself not to panic so you could
think of a better way to survive and save others.
We are
lucky that we are annually raising awareness of what we should do in times of
disasters through the Disaster Resilience Month Celebration. Having little
knowledge is much better than knowing nothing at all.
